Most of the surveyed materials were sample books for townswomen ordering kimonos, including 13 hand-drawn hinagatabon from the Edo to Meiji periods, and a color sample book used in conjunction with these hindagatabon. The other items were one hand-drawn hinagata that samurai women used in the Edo period, two hand-drawn collections of designs produced in the Meiji period, and four publications that kimono makers may have referred to for kimono production.
