| 内容記述 | The “Bangkok Nipponhaku” is a major annual event focusing on Japan, held in Bangkok, Thailand, since 2015. Over the past decade, the number of visitors and exhibitors has approximately doubled, with the event attracting 151,727 visitors and 295 exhibitors in 2025. A notable new trend is observed in the focus of the exhibition zones: specifically, the shift from “Employment at Japanese Companies in Thailand”（2015）to simply “Employment in Japan”（2025）. This change indicates that the event is increasingly becoming a venue for Japanese companies to recruit Thai nationals to work in Japan, reflecting the growing labor shortage there. Furthermore, the “Study in Japan” zone has expanded to include high schools and support companies, thereby broadening the opportunities for Thai students. While the event promotes Japanese culture, food, and products, aligning with Japan’s Cool Japan strategy, it also serves as a crucial channel between the peoples of Thailand and Japan. It not only facilitates the export and consumption of Japanese products in Thailand but also encourages Thai people to travel, study, and seek employment in Japan. This paper examines the evolving role of the Bangkok Nipponhaku from a conventional Japanese cultural event to a comprehensive platform bridging the two countries’ economic and cultural needs. | |||||||||||||
