We analyzed the degree of satisfaction with the practicum, clinical experiences during the practicum, and self-evaluation points of the students from nursing practicum reports. Subjects were 93 unmarried, childless nursing students aged ≤ 24 years (mean: 20.6 ± 0.9). Students were asked to rate the effect on their choice of future life course on a five-point scale based on their practicum experiences. Seventy-nine (84.9%) students answered as either \"strongly agree\" or \"agree\". The effect on life course did not correlate with the degree of student satisfaction with the practicum; however, it significantly correlated with student self-assessment in \"relationship\". We had predicted that the effects of nursing students' life courses in the maternity nursing practicum would lead them to mainly choose family nursing as a career choice.
