After completion of the practicum, nursing students from the School of Nursing, third grade, completed a self-evaluation. In February 2016, five female students consented to participate in this study; in addition, semi-structured interviews were conducted about the impact of the self-evaluation after a nursing practicum and experiences with the nursing practicum. Word-for-word data was encoded, and then categorized. With practical experience affecting self-evaluation, three main categories were extracted: “How to respectfully communicate with the subject”, “Difficulty associated with the psychological care of puerperal women”, and “Level of understanding due to the possible deployment of nursing process deepening”.
