It is characterized by its beautiful red fruit and large, handsome leaves. In fact, it is eaten with various arrangements such as tsukemono(Japanese pickles)and pound cake, but the leaves are discarded in the field at the time of harvest. Therefore, students who had taken the special education subjects of the Department of Human Life Science, “Nutrition Experiment” and “Graduation Research and Graduation Production”, took the lead in examining the utilization of Kawachi Akakabura leaf.
