内容記述 To maintain and enhance the quality of student learning, this educational practice study aims to improve teaching methods. The study seeks to examine the degree of agreement between students’ self-evaluations and faculty evaluations when using a rubric evaluation form introduced in child health nursing practice. The study also examines the validity of the rubric. A total of 80 students filled out the rubric form, which had eight items, resulting in a total of 640 items for analysis.
The number of items with discrepancies in student-faculty evaluations was 365 (57.0%), and 112 (17.5%) of these items displayed a gap of two or more grade levels. Of the 365 items with discrepancies, 300 (82.2%) were rated higher by students, and 65 (17.8%) were rated higher by faculties. Among the items evaluated, the items with the highest number of discrepancies between student and faculty evaluations were Item VII (“understanding child health nursing roles in interprofessional collaboration”), Item II (“ability to relate to children”), and Item VI (“understanding the characteristics of outpatient nursing”). Because of the restrictions on on-site training during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is possible that respondents had difficulty understanding these items, which may explain the differences between students’ and faculty members’ evaluations. Moreover, items with two or more discrepancies in the student-faculty evaluation may have been difficult for the students to understand. It was assumed that examining the content of the evaluation items, having the students and faculties work together during the training to check the achievement levels of learning objectives using the evaluation chart, and providing feedback during the training would lead to appropriate evaluations by both students and faculties.
In addition, it was suggested that students with higher faculty evaluations than student selfevaluations may have underestimated their learning outcomes due to a lack of confidence.
