内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 The authors examined tea utensils bags (drawstring bags) in the collection of the Kyoritsu Women’s University Museum, centered on the works’ relationship to Meibutsu-gire (imported fragments used for tee utensils) in the same collection, which were examined in a previous study. They found that the fragments used in the tea utensils bags did not match Meibutsu-gire. However, there were commonalities apparent in the sumi-ink writing between the wrapping paper and paper bags used in the tea utensils bags and the paper tags etc. of Meibutsu-gire, and the possibility is quite high that these could have been subject to appreciation and study as Meibutsu-gire or ancient fragments, as parts of the same collection. However, almost no cases were found in which the content of sumi-ink writing on the wrapping paper and paper bags matched that of the tea utensils bags.
Although the current whereabouts of the tea canisters and tea utensils bags depicted in the sumi-ink writing on the wrapping paper and paper bags is unclear, at a minimum it can be said to be clear without a doubt from the commonalities in the sumi-ink writing between both that these tea utensils bags were preserved in the same manner as Meibutsu-gire.
In addition, although it is conceivable that attempts could have been made to store these tea utensils bags in the same manner as Meibutsu-gire after they were separated from the traditional wrapping paper and paper bags, at this point in time it is thought that deviations arose with the sumi-ink writing because they were not managed through such writing.
It can be said that the works of tea utensils bags (drawstring bags) and various Meibutsu-gire in the Museum's collection not only convey contemporary people’s values regarding textiles and concepts of Meibutsu-gire but also are valuable works for enabling contemporary people to learn about the history of the collection and dispersion of works of art, including ancient fragments.
