| 内容記述 | Kyoritsu Women's University Museum has a fur cloak belonging to Shibusawa Eiichi and two kimonos belonging to Chiyoko. In addition to examining the date and use of these garments, this paper discusses the concept of clothing of Mr. and Mrs. Eiichi Shibusawa based on the historical documents and the artworks in the museum's collection. The fur cloak was made and worn during the early Meiji period, when the wearing of fur clothing was permitted, and is thought to be a garment that incorporated Shibusawa's flexible thinking due to its haori-like tailoring. As for Chiyoko's kimono, it was worn in the 1877s, before her illness and death, and it reflects her solid character, as it is typical of the rat-red hem patterned kimono that was popular in the early and mid-Meiji period. These materials are not only valuable as works of art, but are also considered to be historical materials that provide a clearer portrait of the modern historical figures. | |||||||||||
