内容記述 | This study aims at preliminary analyses of the impact of the Philippine“K to 12 Program”(K– 12 ), a comprehensive educational reform implemented since 2012 . Specifically, we focus on the influence of compulsory kindergarten-level preschool education on primary education access and efficiency, as well as changes in the number of out-of-school children. The study utilizes available education statistics and household surveys, exploring the relationship between kindergarten enrollment and primary education indicators. The analysis reveals that the net enrollment rate in primary education has increased following K– 12 , with a stronger correlation between preschool and primary enrollment. However, intraregional disparities persist, even including Metro Manila. The study also identifies gaps for improvement in preschool enrollment rates. Future research should focus on micro-level empirical analysis and assess cognitive and noncognitive skills, gender differences, and regional and social stratification. The study emphasizes the importance of collecting micro-level data and conducting in-depth case studies to evaluate K– 12 |
