| 内容記述 | Shigekazu Nakane, Soseki’s stepfather, learned German language from German doctors at the Igakko (now the Faculty of medicine, University of Tokyo), dropped out the Igakko in the second grade of Yoka, and got a position at Tokyo Shojakukan (now the National Diet Library) in 1875. His original goal was to be a government bureaucrat by learning ‘German’. But Nakane lost his employment because Tokyo Shojakukan got excluded from national institutions by the government’s convenience. Then he got a new job at Niigata prefectural hospital and medical school in 1877. This essay mainly focuses on Nakake’s life in Niigata Prefectural Medical School days, studies his achievements, and relates in detail. And then, Nakane resigned from the school and came to Tokyo in 1881, got a post as an employee of ‘Dajoukan,’ the central part of the Meiji government, in 1882. He engaged in German translation. This essay is the sequel of my essay in 2018 “A Study of Shigekazu Nakane ― Soseki Natsume’s Stepfather(1)”B. |
